Jonathan Bullard, Defensive end, Florida

There is a good chance that Arizona could lose the Noah Spence sweepstakes to Seattle. If this is the case and the Cardinals still choose to improve the defensive line, their next target should be Florida defensive end, Jonathan Bullard. Jonathan Bullard was recruited to Florida the same time as Cardinals’ 2015 first round pick, D.J. Humphries.

Bullard, though undersized at 6’3″, 283 pounds, is quick off the snap and puts opposing lineman on their heels. Bullard thrives in a 3-4 base defense, which is the formation the Cardinals mostly line up in. He also continually disrupts the flow of the offense at the line of scrimmage and has consistently been able to break through and make tackles for losses in the backfield. As a senior, he had 66 tackles and 6.5 sacks.

Unfortunately, like D.J. Humphries, Bullard is raw and may need some time to develop. However, due to the need for a pass rush, it is very likely that this Gator would see the field much sooner than his 2015 counterpart. If Noah Spence is off the board, Jonathan Bullard would be decent consolation prize at the end of the first round.
