Scooby Wright III, Linebacker, Arizona

It was a season of what could have been for third year linebacker Scooby Wright. After his breakout season as a sophomore where he racked up  163 tackles, 14.5 sacks and 6 forced fumbles. many were eager to see Wright further elevate his play a junior. Due to a torn meniscus, Wright only played three games in 2015.

Aside from Deone Bucannon, the Cardinals had much to be desired at the linebacker position. Scooby Wright has quickness, a high football IQ and a large amount of heart, which is a trait that is hard to find in players. At 6’1″ 229 pounds, Wright has similar size to Bucannon, who is 6’1′ 216 pounds. Having two “Drones” in the defensive back field would do wonders for this team’s pass rush and passing game.

If Wright has fully recovered from his knee injury, and he’s able to perform in the NFL like he did his sophomore season, he could be one of the biggest steals in the draft, where he’s expected to go in the late second to third rounds.
