Gunner Kiel

The University of Cincinnati product won’t be available until 2017 but that may just be right for the Cardinals who can wait another season to find Palmer’s successor.  Kiel is just slightly shorter and lighter than Palmer.

Kiel has thrown for 6,031 yards in two seasons at Cincinnati.  He has thrown 50 touchdowns and 24 interceptions.  He had a slight decline in numbers in 2015 over 2014 but that was due to playing three fewer games due to injury in 2015.

Scouts worry about his durability but you can’t ignore the talent Kiel possesses.  Had he played more in 2015 he likely would have been around for the 2016 NFL Draft.  This likely works out better for Kiel though as he could be one of the top quarterbacks available in the 2017 NFL Draft.
