D.J. Humphries, OT

I will not call him a bust…yet.  If he doesn’t make it out of training camp a starter or at least second on the depth chart, his days in Arizona will be numbered.  The Cardinals aren’t ready to give up on him yet and admit they made a mistake in drafting him at number 24 in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft.

The Cardinals though clearly though were not happy with Humphries.  In preseason Arians called him lazy. Some thought that was a good thing and played it off as a joke.  It is likely a reason why Humphries was never active in 2015.

I’ve never seen a first-rounder, not injured, not play in his first season when completely healthy.  He was a healthy scratch all 17 weeks of the regular season and the two playoff games.  What gives?  He supposedly was good enough to be a first-rounder but not good enough to suit up on Sunday’s?  Someone missed the memo on him.  He is not a sure thing to make the 2016 team though.
