Arizona Cardinals: Top 10 plays of the year
By Scott Allen
4. Dwight Freeney’s strip sack of Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater
The Vikings were already in field goal range. The Cardinals defense was desperately hanging on to a 23-20 lead on Minnesota’s drive to take the lead or tie the game. The Vikings started their drive at their own 20-yard line but only had a 1:23 left in the game to get some sort of score.
With 13 seconds left on a third and 10 on the Cardinals 31-yard line and in field goal range, Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater dropped back to pass and Cardinals linebacker Dwight Freeney came in and provided his signature spin move to strip sack Bridgewater. The Cardinals recovered the fumble to preserve the victory on Thursday Night Football.
