19th Pick – Buffalo Bills (8-8)
Leonard Floyd – OLB
Georgia – Redshirt Junior
6-3, 232 Pounds

For those who wondered if the Bills would be a competitive team in 2015, they saw first hand the competitive nature and fire that Rex Ryan instilled in his players. With the upcoming free agency coming up, the athletic, yet undisciplined, Nigel Bradham, is set to become a free agent this off-season. The team saw early development from A.J. Tarpley, while Mario Williams had a degressed year. The Buffalo Bills are about to have a tough off-season, and I think their draft selection is one of them.

With Leonard Floyd, the Buffalo Bills get themselves more depth with a young and bright college star, one who is going to be a standout for the Rex Ryan defense. I still don’t know if Floyd is capable to play multiple positions (inside linebacker, outside linebacker, defensive end), but I am very excited to see the multiple fronts that the defense will end up playing. Floyd has been very good at speed-rushing, being able to outpace the left tackle, and being very strong with his hand-placement. I don’t know if Floyd can cover out in space quite yet, but with some (keyword) “development”, nothing is impossible for Floyd.

I feel that many would want a quarterback in this situation, but for those who question Tyrod Taylor, I say nay. Leonard Floyd is the best player available (some would say Jaylon Smith of Notre Dame), and seems to be a guy who can make an impact for years to come. His potential development on the defensive line is what seems to interest me, although I would like him to gain a little bit of lean muscle so he wouldn’t be handled there.
