Everyone automatically says “Well, Greg Hardy isn’t coming back, might as well give Dallas a defensive end in the mock”, in which I say nay. The Cowboys just selected an ultra-talented defensive end last year named Randy Gregory, a young Nebraska player who many thought was a first round talent. I will not give the Cowboys a defensive end in my mock, instead I will give them a defensive tackle. Why? Because Nick Hayden becomes a free agent, and there is plenty of talent on the board. What about quarterback? Sorry folks, Jerry Jones isn’t going to invest in a quarterback this year.

I, for one, think that the Cowboys need to solidify their defensive front, and I’m pretty sure that Nkemdiche is going to be a tremendous player for years to come. Nkemdiche did have some trouble this year, which led to the Rebels suspending him for their bowl game, and left the team spudering on defense. Though, as reported by Clay Travis of Fox Sports, Nkemdiche was questioned because of an alleged synthetic marijuana abuse charge, and a subsequent fall from a hotel room window. I say, if he clears the legal obsticles, the Cowboys will probably grab the young man.

Nkemdiche was used as a defensive tackle who could penetrate and destroy the opposing teams guards, while also playing a role on offense, catching passes from Chad Kelly. I really think his niche in the NFL is setting gap discipline, and stopping the running back in the backfield. The other problem with Nkemdiche could be his lack of production during his junior year, but I like to think the opposing team ran away from Nkemdiche. The talent is there, now can the Cowboys sign off on the legal issues?
