Arizona Cardinals: David Johnson’s top 3 plays of 2015
1. Mini “Beast Mode” run vs. Philadelphia Eagles
David Johnson already started 2 games before the Cardinals Sunday Night showdown against the Eagles. However, it’s this game that put Johnson’s name on the national map and many highlight reels. With less than 5 minutes remaining in the second quarter, and the score tied at 10-10, the Cardinals lined up at the Eagles’ 47 yard line looking to take the lead heading into half time. Johnson lined up 9 yards behind Palmer, took the hand off and cut to the right. It seemed that Johnson was stopped at the 45 yard line for a 2 yard gain, but that wasn’t the case.

Johnson kept his feet moving, breaking several tackles, and also managed to stiff arm both Eagles’ safety Ed Reynolds and corner E.J. Biggers on his way to the end zone. Johnson ran through the entire Eagles defense This run has often been compared to Marshawn Lynch’s earthquake against the Saints in the 2011 playoffs. At the end of the game in the national spotlight, Johnson finished the day running for 187 yards and 3 touchdowns with an average of 8.6 yards per carry culminating in a FedEx Ground Player of the Week award.
