Possible defensive lineman the Arizona Cardinals should target with their first round.

As evident in the NFC Championship game against the Carolina Panthers, the Arizona Cardinals are in a desperate need of a potent pass rush. Especially with quarterback Carson Palmer and other veterans’ closing windows. In addition to free agency, the Cardinals are expected to acquire some pass rush help through the draft. With Arizona holding the 29th pick in the first round, they are still at a great spot to take a pass rusher who can help add depth to this depleted line.

Aside from Markus Golden, Rodney Gunter and Josh Mauro, the Cardinals have no youth invested along the defensive line positions. Frostee Rucker is 32 years old and Calais Campbell is approaching 30. If the Cardinals hope to stay contenders for a long time they need to beef up the defensive line, along with other positions, fast. The best place to start would be this year’s draft which is loaded with defensive talent. Here are three defensive lineman the Cardinals should look at selecting with their first round pick. Jonathan Bullard was featured in a previous post, so he will not be included in this list.
