Arizona Cardinals: 5 released players to ponder
By Scott Allen
Donald Butler, LB
Just released by the San Diego Chargers, Butler spent his first five seasons there. He has 375 tackles, seven sacks, and three interceptions in his short career to date.
Butler provides youth. He is 27, will turn 28 in October. The Cardinals do need to get younger at linebacker and Butler would provide depth at the position. He was a pricey veteran that created $9.41 million in cap space for the Chargers upon his release.
Butler though will not cost an arm and leg this time around with the diminished numbers from 23015. He had just 43 tackles and 0.5 sacks in 2015.
