The Arizona Cardinals select 29th in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft

As we are about to fly into April, the 2016 NFL Draft is getting closer and closer.  The Arizona Cardinals select 29th in the first round.  We now have just four weeks until the big night in Chicago.

Here is a look at the draft profile of cornerback Mackensie Alexander out of Clemson.  He is a possibility for the Cardinals.

Height: 5-10

Weight: 190

The upside:

He’s from Clemson, what more do you need to know?  The Cardinals have done well with players from Clemson in recent history.  He has good anticipation and is quick and light on his feet according to cbssports.com

The downside:

He’s missing though what coach Bruce Arians wants the most.  Height.  Arians made no bones about getting taller in the secondary after they lost the NFC Championship Game.  Although he was tough to throw against, he actually has never had an interception, which is very difficult to believe given his high marks.

What people are saying:

I’m not so as much worried about the no interceptions as I am the height.  The Cardinals secondary missed balls last season due to height and speed or lack thereof.  Speed isn’t an issue with Alexander.  Someone will snatch him up in the first round.
