The Arizona Cardinals select 29th in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft

As we are about to fly into April, the 2016 NFL Draft is getting closer and closer.  The Arizona Cardinals select 29th in the first round.  We now have just four weeks until the big night in Chicago.

Here is a look at the draft profile of outside linebacker Leonard Floyd out of Georgia.  He is a possibility for the Cardinals.

Height: 6-6

Weight: 240

The upside:

Cbssports.com says he has raw power.  He has decent speed.  His 40-yard at the Scouting Combine in February was 4.60.  He has the ability to get to the quarterback, something the Cardinals are definitely looking for from their outside linebackers.

I like seeing that he has the ability to avoid blockers.  That will help him get to running backs as well as quarterbacks.

The downside:

Some are still not sure we’ve seen his best.  He is bypassing his senior season to go pro.  A part of me believes he could have been a high first rounder had he stuck around Georgia one more season.  Still, he’s projected as a late first rounder.

What people are saying:

Floyd is young no doubt.  He could even sit awhile to catch on and be mentored by some.  However whoever gives him a shot is going to go in with the mindset that he is ready to play now.  You expect that from a first rounder however it is not beyond reason he could be picked for not 2016, but 2017 or 2018.  Remember D.J. Humphries?
