LaMarr Woodley doesn’t mince words about his defensive coordinator while with the Arizona Cardinals

My first question has to be simple.  Why?  Why did he feel it necessary to come out and blast his former defensive coordinator?  By he I mean former Arizona Cardinals linebacker LaMarr Woodley.  On Friday he spoke out against Cardinals defensive coordinator James Bettcher.

“In Arizona we had a dumb defensive coordinator”, Woodley said.  Interesting.  I must have missed the part where Woodley was a huge contributor in Arizona.

Woodley spent once season in Arizona after coming over from the Oakland Raiders, where he also spent one year and consequently called his defensive coordinator there dumb as well.  He spent his first seven years with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

He said he didn’t fit the defensive scheme coming over to a 3-4 in Arizona.  Really?  So why did he come to Arizona then if he knew what they ran? The lack of you fitting in to a scheme is not on the defensive coordinator.  Remember, he had a choice to come here.

Woodley played in 10 games for the Cardinals last year, starting just seven of them. He had just 10 tackles and one sack in 2015.

That’s about the skinny of it. He’s trying to get his name out there. That can only be what this is about. We just had the NFL Draft, he’s currently out of an NFL job. His window of time not only for the upcoming 2016 season is narrowing, so is his professional career. Fans are also understandably perplexed by the comments.

Honestly I believe this is all he wanted, people talking about him.  I just don’t understand the hate though.  Be grateful for the time you had on a team that gave you an opportunity.  Even if you didn’t feel like you fit here, why say anything at all? Just hush.
