5. Ifeanyi Momah
Momah was well on his way to making the 2015 team when he got injured and had to be placed on season-ending IR just before the season started. It was a disappointment all around.
Momah was expected to be a big contributor in the Cardinals offense. Although the other Cardinals tight ends did more than their part last season you have to wonder what it would have been like had Momah had the chance to play?
Wonder no more. Momah is back and ready to fight for a spot on the roster. With another guy coming back in Gerald Christian, there might only be room for one of them. Darren Fells and Troy Niklas are going nowhere. Neither is Jermaine Gresham. Momah will likely have to fight for the fourth tight end spot.
It will be fun though seeing Momah come back and see if he can re-capture what he had in the last preseason. There are no guarantees on this squad so he’s not out of the running by any stretch of the imagination but his path to the 53-man roster does seem tougher this season.
