Arizona Cardinals announce training camp start date

The Arizona Cardinals have mini-camp this upcoming week before breaking for summer
The Arizona Cardinals have a little bit of business to take care of this week and then it is off for the summer vacation. Next stop after summer vacation? Training camp in Glendale.
The Cardinals announced on Friday that training camp will begin in Glendale at University of Phoenix Stadium on Thursday July 28th. The first practice will take place the next day on July 29th.
This is the news a lot of us were waiting for. The Cardinals announced that the entire training camp schedule will be released soon. No date was provided for that release.
However this gives us a start date now to start our planning. You will likely see the team scrimmage game a week later on Saturday August 6th.
The Cardinals have four preseason games starting Friday August 12th at University of Phoenix Stadium against the Oakland Raiders at 7:00 p.m. They are on the road the entire next week in California. They will have joint practices with the San Diego Chargers prior to their matchup at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego on Friday August 19th at 6:00 p.m.
The Cardinals preseason week three also takes them on the road to face the Houston Texans. That will be a nationally televised game on FOX on Sunday August 28th at 1:00 p.m. The Cardinals come home for the final week of the preseason to face the Denver Broncos on Thursday September 1st at 6:30 p.m.
Given that week one and week four you don’t see a lot of the starters, your best bet to see the starters this preseason will be at training camp. Once the schedule is released we will let you know and will break it down.
Please keep in mind that the mini-camp this week is not open to the public, as it will be held at team headquarters in Tempe. So start planning for that first weekend of training camp action July 29th – 31st out in Glendale!
