The Arizona Cardinals have concluded mini-camp with next stop training camp in Glendale

We continue our annual look at player by player from A to Z on the current Arizona Cardinals roster as we are now entering the final stages of the offseason before the start of training camp. The next stop is training camp on July 28th.

In this profile we look at receiver John Brown.  Brown is entering his third season in the NFL with Arizona.

2015: After a rookie season in which he started hot out of the gates in 2014, he had a much more consistent season in 2015.  He caught 65 passes for 1,003 yards.  He caught seven of those passes for touchdowns.

In 2014 he had 48 receptions and five touchdowns.  He changed his eating habits in the offseason to get in better shape and have the ability to maintain throughout the 16 game NFL season.  He had a season and career best 10 receptions for 196 yards in a loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

2016: Look for Brown to get even better.  He will still have to split receptions with Larry Fitzgerald and Michael Floyd but he should still get his fair share.

Brown will have great value not only as a Cardinals receiver but also great fantasy value.  He has the tools to become the number one receiver once Fitzgerald retires in a couple of seasons but for now it is the consistent performances that fans and the team is looking for.

Going from 43.5 yards-per-game to 66.9 yards-per-game is quite the jump.  His number were fine last season and if he puts out the same production without great improvement I don’t believe anyone will come unglued.

Brown will be a top target again in 2016.  Let’s just hope he can remain healthy and remain an integral part of the Cardinals offense.
