The Arizona Cardinals group of receivers were ranked the best in the NFL.

Arizona’s receivers proved to be a handful for opposing defenses, and the league has been put on notice for the upcoming season. Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com ranked his top four receiving groups in the NFL, and the Cardinals ended up being number one on that list.

Ranked before the Cardinals were the up and coming Jacksonville Jaguars, New England Patriots and the Washington Redskins at fourth, third and second respectively. Rosenthal mentions that the Pittsburgh Steelers would have been ranked second, but due to the suspension of receiver Martavis Bryant were left off the list.

Rosenthal was straightforward for his reason to rank the Cardinals at number one:

"Arizona Cardinals: The Redskins are deeper than the Cardinals, but we’d still take Arizona’s diversity. They have an all-time legend (Larry Fitzgerald) coming off one of the best performances of his career. They have a terrific deep threat (Michael Floyd) and a shifty speedster that can take a top off a defense (John Brown) or work in the slot. J.J. Nelson could wind up being a poor man’s version of John Brown, while even Jaron Brown has made big plays for this team. The tight end doesn’t play as big a role in Arizona’s offense, but the overall dynamism of the Cardinals wideouts rules all."

The biggest advantages this group of receivers boasts is the ability to spread the field, their reliability and their consistency. There are no weak spots, and each receiver on the roster possesses big play ability. Defenses will be clocking in long hours at the office struggling to keep these receivers in check.

The Cardinals boasted the number 1 offense last season, and this year should be no different. With there being no turnover from last year, Fitzgerald and co. should be picking up right where they left off.
