The Arizona Cardinals have concluded mini-camp with next stop training camp in Glendale

We continue our annual look at player by player from A to Z on the current Arizona Cardinals roster as we are now entering the final stages of the offseason before the start of training camp. The next stop is training camp on July 28th.

In this profile we look at safety Chris Clemons.  He signed with the Arizona Cardinals in the offseason.  He enters his eighth season in the NFL.

2015: Clemons played in seven games last season for the Cardinals. He recorded just five tackles and one fumble recovery.  Clemons had two stints with the team last season.

After reaching an injury settlement in October of 2015 he was re-signed when Tyrann Mathieu went down for the season.

2016: Clemons will certainly be in the mix for a spot on the 53-man roster this season but he has a lot of competition in front of him.  Having been part of the team for the most part since December 2014, he does know the system.

That being said, guys like D.J. Swearinger, Tyvon Branch, and Tony Jefferson may edge him out and could be on the outside looking in.  He could be though another guy playing for a job with another team.

The Cardinals also may not be done with signing people in the secondary so another cornerback or safety signing could push a guy like Chris Clemons off the roster.  The prediction here is Clemons will in fact not make the final 53-man roster given the talent there now.
