Arizona Cardinals profiles: Rob Crisp
By Scott Allen
The Arizona Cardinals are less than three weeks away from opening training camp in Glendale
We continue our annual look at player by player from A to Z on the current Arizona Cardinals roster as we are now entering the final stages of the offseason before the start of training camp. The next stop is training camp on July 28th.
In this profile we look at tackle Rob Crisp. He was signed to a futures contract with the Cardinals back in January of this year.
2015: He started out signed as an undrafted free agent out of North Carolina State. He was one of the last cuts of training camp. He was signed to the practice squad shortly thereafter however his season was ended just days later as he went on the practice squad-injured reserve list.
2016: He looks to be in the mix for a job on the active roster. With as much re-tooling the Cardinals have had to do with their depth on the line, Crisp seems to be in a position to be a part of that offensive line depth this season.
Crisp is one of the taller offensive lineman on the current 90-man roster. Only tackle Jared Veldheer is taller at 6-8.
We’ll pay close attention to Crisp’s performance during training camp and the preseason. He should start camp third on the tackle depth chart behind Veldheer and second-year tackle D.J. Humphries. Humphries didn’t play a single down in his rookie regular season.
Crisp likely will make this squad unless other additions are made to the line before camp or the regular season starts.
