The Arizona Cardinals report for training camp on July 28th with first practice on July 29th

That smell in the air.  It’s here.  It’s time for the Arizona Cardinals and the rest of the NFL to begin their summer ritual of going to training camp.

The Cardinals will begin their camp at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale.  Their camp takes them to San Diego for a week in August prior to their preseason game with the Chargers on August 19th.

There are going to be some good battles on both sides of the ball.  On offense look for the center and tight end positions to be tough.  On the defensive side of the ball look at cornerback and safety.  Even the punter and long-snapper positions should have exciting battles.

Positions like quarterback, receivers, defensive line, linebackers will still have battles but the top two guys at those positions are a little more clear cut. Most of the battles are going to come at positions that carry quite a bit of depth with them into camp and some guys are going to get cut that previously could have made the team.

So time to take a look at the top two players at each position.  Official depth charts will be available sometime in August.
