The Arizona Cardinals are just five days away from opening training camp in Glendale
We continue our annual look at player by player from A to Z on the current Arizona Cardinals roster as we are now entering the final stages of the offseason before the start of training camp. Players report to training camp this Thursday July 28th.
In this profile we look at receiver Michael Floyd. He enters his 5th season in the NFL out of Notre Dame.
2015: Floyd didn’t start off so hot in 2015 due to injury to his hand in training camp. The fact he even had a reception in the season opener against the New Orleans Saints was amazing given his injury.
For the season he ended up with 52 receptions for 849 yards and six touchdowns. He caught passes totaling 849 yards. His numbers were very similar to those in 2014.

2016: Going into this season Floyd again looks to show the potential he had coming out of school five years ago. Consistency is the key for Floyd. He needs to be able to provide a consistent performance week in and week out. He had six games in which he played in last year that he only had one or zero receptions in.
Floyd will be a deep threat again and can has great jumping ability. However if he doesn’t out perform what he has accomplished over the past two seasons, Floyd may no longer be an Arizona Cardinals receiver.
The rumors about him being traded still swirl around, although they haven’t been as vocal recently as they were in the past. It’s put up or shut up time for Floyd. He’s a very likeable guy but it’s what you do on the field that matters the most in this league.
