These Arizona Cardinals had a good first week of training camp

There aren’t a lot of roster spots available for guys trying to make the Arizona Cardinals regular season 53-man roster.  That means there are quite a few guys playing for precious few spots.

Some guys got out of the gates slow and others have impressed so far after one week of camp and the annual Red-White Scrimmage on Saturday afternoon in Glendale.

It’s still early in camp so a lot of things can change.  The Cardinals made a couple of roster moves during the first week of camp and some guys have already been put on notice.

However after seven practices and a scrimmage some players are starting to make an impression. Whether those impressions will be enough in the end to make a difference or not remains to be seen.

Of course injuries have played their part over the first eight days as well.  That ultimately leads to some players getting chances to shine they wouldn’t otherwise get the opportunity to do.

These five players have shown so far they are either worthy of discussion to make the regular season roster or gain a starting spot if they were already making the team. Some may surprise you, some may not. The Cardinals will be preparing this week, starting Monday, for their first preseason game this upcoming Friday against the Oakland Raiders.
