The Arizona Cardinals overall fell short as a team Friday night but these five guys played well

The Arizona Cardinals lost 31-10 on Friday night to the Oakland Raiders.  On the surface they appeared to play sloppy, uninspired at times, and overall poorly.

While much of that is true, there were individuals who were able to see their star shine a little brighter in the loss.  Statistically on offense, the Cardinals were much better than the Raiders.  On defense, they could have played better.

In the end turnovers made a huge difference in the outcome of the game.  This is something you will see happen in the regular season as well.  What you saw on Friday night though is likely not indicative of what you will see come the regular season.

Many who you saw play on Friday night for the Cardinals will not be on the roster come September 11th against the New England Patriots.  However, a number of the backups that played will.

In a night full of mistakes and things to learn from, the Cardinals did have five guys who played a lot better than the overall result would exhibit.  The preseason is not about who wins and loses, although winning is always nice, it is about who performed well and who didn’t.

These five players either saw their stock rise or continued to show why they are an integral part of what the Cardinals are ultimately trying to accomplish in 2016. The test will be consistency and continuing to get better towards the march to September.
