The Arizona Cardinals will play their last preseason game ahead of the first cut-down date on Tuesday

The Arizona Cardinals haven’t played well as a team yet this preseason but for 15 guys their time in a Cardinals uniform is going to end this Tuesday, or before, ahead of the NFL’s first cut-down deadline of 1:00 p.m. Arizona time Tuesday.  The roster is currently at 90 players.  They will need to cut to 75.

This round of cuts can be considered a little easier with still one more cut-down deadline on Saturday September 3rd down to a 53-man regular season roster.  That still doesn’t mean players can’t extend their time in a Cardinals uniform by playing well this Sunday against the Houston Texans.

A number of players can at least give themselves one more chance in the final preseason game on Thursday September 1st.  There are a number of candidates for that opportunity.

These five players have the best chance to talk coaches out of placing them in the first-round of cuts.  Their opportunity may still end four days later but at least they still have a shot.  If for nothing else, it would give these guys another shot of impressing another team.

Most teams will be scouring the waiver wires after cut-downs to see if there are players out there that can help their team out.  Being cut next week doesn’t necessarily mean these players are out of chances, just their chance with the Cardinals will come to an end.  Now, let’s check out those five guys.
