Arizona Cardinals cornerback Mike Jenkins suffers his second injury of the preseason
Arizona Cardinals cornerback Mike Jenkins might not be returning anytime soon from this injury. In the first quarter of the Cardinals game against the Houston Texans, cornerback Mike Jenkins was injured trying to change direction in attempting to make a tackle and went down to the turf.
He immediately grabbed his knee, never a good sign. You could tell from the replay that Jenkins knew something was wrong right away.
The Cardinals carted Jenkins off the field. He held his head down, also never a good sign. Nothing has been officially reported yet, however the injury has all the makings of an ACL injury. The turf at Reliant Stadium was not very giving on the play.

Jenkins signed with the Cardinals in the offseason in hope of bolstering their depth at cornerback. Right after camp started in Glendale though, Jenkins broke his hand and missed the next three weeks.
If Jenkins is in fact lost for the season or an extended amount of time, the Cardinals should be alright. Justin Bethel just returned this past week from the PUP list and is playing today.
Jenkins was almost sure going to make the team. Now this opens a spot for someone else fighting to stay come cut time. Teams must cut to 75-players by Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. and down to 53 by 1:00 p.m. this upcoming Saturday September 3rd.
We will of course hope for the best for Jenkins but the Cardinals will be alright should Jenkins get bad news later on.
