Arizona Cardinals: Current health not a concern

The Arizona Cardinals had three players that did not practice on Wednesday
For the Arizona Cardinals, health has always been a concern. We know what has happened injury-wise with the Cardinals over the last couple of seasons.
The Cardinals practiced on Wednesday, releasing their first injury report of the season. Of those listed on the injury report, just three of the player did not practice at all.
Linebackers Lamar Louis and Kareem Martin did not practice. Also missing practice was running back Stepfan Taylor. Not bad considering.
Martin hurt himself at the end of the preseason. When he went down, it appeared his injured knee could be serious. In the end he may miss 4-6 weeks at most but could miss as little as one week.
Also missing with a knee injury was Taylor. Taylor injured his knee in the third preseason game against the Houston Texans. His status for Sunday is up in the air.
I would expect these three to be inactive Sunday but nothing has been made official yet. Others that could end up that way on Sunday as well include cornerback Justin Bethel and defensive tackle Frostee Rucker. Both fought injury during training camp and continued to be limited in practice on Wednesday.
The overall health of the team is very good however. Receiver Larry Fitzgerald, who sprained an MCL in preseason, did not show on Wendesday’s report. Also not on the report was receiver John Brown who battled concussion symptoms for almost a month.
The Cardinals opponent New England Patriots meanwhile had seven players limited in practice on Wednesday. They come in beat up somewhat. Included on the injury report were former Arizona Cardinals guard Jonathan Cooper and tight end Rob Gronkowski.
The one player who all eyes will be on for the Cardinals is safety Tyrann Mathieu. He was reportedly very active in practice on Wednesday. Expect him to be ready to play. Great to see coming off his second torn ACL back in December.
