Kameron Canaday

When Mike Leach retired at the end of the 2015 season, we didn’t know what direction the Cardinals would go in to find their next long-snapper.  We did know the Cardinals likely would have to find him amongst a crowd of undrafted free agents.

That’s just what they did.  They brought in rookies Kameron Canaday from Portland State and Danny Dillon from Campbell.

It appeared as the end of the preseason was approaching, that Dillon was going to be the guy going forward.  Just one week before final cuts, the depth chart had him as number one with Canaday trailing.

On Sunday night, Canaday had a rookie debut he’d soon just rather forget.  On the final drive of the game, he snapped the ball low, which in turn caused kicker Chandler Catanzaro to miss wide left.

Next: Wide left

Canaday will not be able to repeat that performance much longer.  I imagine the Cardinals have Dillon or someone else in the Rolodex on the ready.
