Arizona Cardinals: 3 players who could be waived
By Scott Allen
Drew Butler
He is one tough dude. I will give him that. However he continues to not be the answer at punter for the Cardinals.
He was injured in week one against the Patriots but returned to the game. Since then he has struggled to be 100 percent healthy.
On Sunday he had to be replaced by Catanzaro in the first half. That would be Chandler Catanzaro, the kicker. Butler has a sprained Achilles injury.
If his play doesn’t do him in, his health certainly will keep Butler off the field for the time being. If one of the nine players the Cardinals bring in on Tuesday isn’t a punter I’d be very surprised.
Butler is an up-and-down kind of punter. Punted poorly in week one and week three but was very decent in week two against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Bulter hasn’t been consistent since joining the team in 2014 when he beat out Dave Zastudil to be the team’s punter. His time as a Cardinals punter though could be coming to a quick close this week. Rumor is the Cardinals are bringing punter Ryan Quigley in to replace him on Tuesday.
