The bad

Penalties, by both teams.  The Jets were a turnover machine early on.  However the Cardinals did their part as well.

The Jets had 10 penalties for 83 yards.  The Cardinals added nine more of their own for 64 yards. A lot of the penalties were sloppy ones.

The Cardinals forced the Jets into consecutive false starts in the first quarter.  They also had multiple holding calls on defense.

But the Cardinals need to do a better job themselves.  They had a couple of dumb penalties that will need to be cleaned up ahead of the Seahawks on Sunday night.

The officials were calling it tight early on but seemed to let both teams play a little more as the game wore on.  There were instances where penalties were called on both teams that were questionable.  At least the officials were consistent.

The Cardinals can’t afford to shoot themselves in the foot though with dumb penalties against the Seahawks.  They, unlike the Jets, will make them pay for it.
