The Arizona Cardinals and Atlanta Falcons announced their inactives ahead of Sunday’s game
The Arizona Cardinals inactive list is out. Receiver Michael Floyd, who was considered a game-time decision all-week is in. After bringing receiver Marquis Bundy off of the practice squad this week, this is a mildly surprising decision.
For Floyd, the extra rest could have been huge going into December but apparently looked alright to trainers in pre-game warmups. He’s had a rough year performance wise but has been playing better as of late.
Safety Tyrann Mathieu will also be active for the first time since October 30th at Carolina. He injured his shoulder and was expected to miss three to six weeks.
As for the Falcons, they are going to be without their top cornerback Desmond Trufant. He is going to have season-ending surgery.
WR Marquis Bundy
DT Robert Nkemdiche
LB Sio Moore
G Cole Toner
DT Olsen Pierre
DT Ed Stinson
S Christian Bryant
Bryant heads to the sidelines with Mathieu back. Cornerback Tharold Simon is also active. As for Nkemdiche, once again he is a healthy scratch. He may not see the field the rest of the season.
Outside of Trufant, other Falcons inactives:
P Matt Bosher
S Sharrod Neasman
RB Terron Ward
G Wes Schweitzer
DE Cliff Matthews
DT Ra’Shede Hageman
The loss of Trufant and Hegeman are big for the Falcons. The Cardinals have an opportunity to take advantage on offense. The big question now is will they? Look for attempts at big plays down the field.
Having Mathieu back is huge against Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan. Let’s hope the Cardinals haven’t rushed him back too soon.
With enough talent at defensive tackle, the absence of Stinson shouldn’t hurt too much. Let’s also hope that the Cardinals playing Floyd doesn’t come back to hurt them either.
