Michael Floyd arrested for DUI
Arizona Cardinals receiver Michael Floyd has been arrested on a DUI charge
A tough season for Cardinals Receiver Michael Floyd just keeps going downhill. Floyd was arrested on a DUI charge in Scottsdale Arizona early Monday morning. The Scottsdale Police Department said they found Floyd in his vehicle unconscious at 2:48 a.m. He has been charged with two counts of DUI, one count of obstructing a roadway, and also failure to obey a police officer. Floyd was released later on Monday morning.
The arrest comes after the Cardinals had gotten back to Phoenix after a loss against the Dolphins. The Cardinals receiver has not had a good season on the field. Floyd has only 33 receptions for 445 yards and 4 touchdowns. In 2015, Floyd was a big part of the Cardinals success with his deep threat ability, and helped take Arizona to the NFC Championship.

This isn’t Floyd’s first run in with the law. In March of 2011, back in Floyd’s college days at Notre Dame, he was arrested for a DUI after being over twice the legal limit. Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly said back in 2011 that “football needs to take a backseat while Michael gets his life back in order.” He was suspended from the Notre Dame football team indefinitely. The suspension was lifted in August of 2011. The Cardinals selected him in the first round of the 2012 NFL draft.
The team has not made a statement as to what they may do with Floyd, who is in the last year of his contract. Arizona is coming off a loss against the Dolphins 26-23 which all but killed Arizona’s playoff dreams. In that game, Floyd had 2 receptions for 18 yards. The Cardinals 5-7-1 next play the Saints at home on December 18th.
