The Arizona Cardinals have already ruled three players out for Sunday’s game at the Los Angeles Rams
What’s another week of the 2016 season without a few more injuries to add to an ever-growing list of them for the Arizona Cardinals? It’s hard to imagine that scenario because the Cardinals in fact added more on Tuesday.
Safety Tony Jefferson, who was likely ruled out prior to today’s announcement, tackle D.J. Humphries, and center Taylor Boggs will all miss the season finale in Los Angeles. Jefferson and Boggs were put on injured reserve.
The additions to injured reserve now make 16 the number of players to hit injured reserve this season. One of them, safety Tyvon Branch, made it to the list twice. That’s how impressive the list has been this year.
Jefferson sprained his knee in the victory over the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday. We already knew he was going to miss the final game of the season. Tuesday’s announcement made it official. He will be alright however.

Humphries has been in concussion protocol. He missed the last couple of games and the Cardinals didn’t want to subject him to any more football this season.
For Jefferson, it could mean he is not seen in a Cardinals uniform again, however there will be a lot of speculation on that over the coming weeks. It would be surprising to see him not return.
There have not been any further announcements on players who could miss this Sunday’s game. The team will return to practice on Wednesday.
Sunday will be the last chance for a lot of players to state their case for a Cardinals roster spot in 2017. The Cardinals will have a lot of decisions to make once the season ends. Unfortunately some of those injured players will not return next season. Let’s hope Jefferson isn’t one of them.
