Arizona Cardinals: 5 possible CB free agents
By Scott Allen
Prince Amukamara
We’ve been down this road with Prince Amukamara before. He is going to be a free-agent after one season with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The native of Glendale, AZ and Apollo High School just completed his sixth season in the NFL. He is a bit bigger of a cornerback at 6’0 and 201 lbs.
He did not have any interceptions, six passes defensed, and 46 tackles in the 2016 season. He has seven career interceptions but 51 passes defensed.
As much as the interceptions help, Amukamara is a disruptor. That’s what the Cardinals need, someone who can stop drives and keep big plays from happening. The interceptions are sexy and appreciated but as long as he can defend, that is what the Cardinals need opposite Peterson.
Amukamara may be one of the cheaper options on the open market. You wonder if there is interest from the Jaguars to give him a new contract? He has said he would like to return to the Jags but there has been nothing from the team so far.
