Markus Wheaton

2016 team: Pittsburgh Steelers

Sure, he’s another Pittsburgh Steelers product.  Wheaton is also another guy from Phoenix.  He played at Chandler High School in Chandler, Arizona.

He played in just three games in 2016.  He caught four passes for 51-yards.  This was after a 44-reception 749-yard and five touchdown performance in 2015.

Wheaton was slowed by injury as well in 2016.  His talent though was shown in the 2014 and 2015 seasons.  He had 1,393-yards receiving over those two seasons combined.

The Steelers just committed a lot of money to receiver Antonio Brown.  Clearly it’s Brown and everyone else there.  Wheaton could come here and be the guy after next season.

The Cardinals likely will add to their receiving core in 2017.  They just re-signed Jeremy Ross but Ross will have to compete for a spot.  Bringing Wheaton in would be a nice pickup for the team and could pay dividends for a long time.
