Evan Engram showed wide receiver skills in his tight end body

Another position that could use an upgrade for the Cardinals is the tight end spot. In the modern NFL, athletic tight ends who create match-up problems are all the rage. In Arizona, however, they haven’t been able to get on board, and adding a true weapon there could be a huge boost to the offense.

Evan Engram is as much a wide receiver as he is a tight end. He runs fast, he can move around, and he gets down the field. In 2016, at Ole Miss, he caught 65 passes for 926 yards and 8 scores. His great hands and ability to run with it once he has it make him a threat on every play.

Engram’s numbers were competitive with the wide receivers in Indianapolis. He posted a blazing 4.42 40-time, and added a 36 inch vertical leap. He also caught the ball well. The Cardinals haven’t had a great tight end in a while, and Engram fits the offense, so if he falls into the second round, they could set their sights on him.
