Running back Stepfan Taylor

Arizona Cardinals running back Stepfan Taylor – or Kulabafi, as he is known by some of his former Stanford teammates – is yet another Cardinal ball carrier set to hit free agency. Taylor is not a particularly explosive runner, but he does tend to be a strong north-south runner. In his four seasons with the Cardinals, however, Taylor’s most consistent contributions have been on special teams.

Though the Cardinals would probably like to have him back for that reason alone, Taylor has indicated that he would like a bigger offensive role, wherever he signs – a perfectly rational desire. Yet, as is the case with Chris Johnson, Taylor may not find that opportunity on the free agency market.

Nonetheless, if Chris Johnson and Andre Ellington do garner interest in free agency, the Cardinals might look to Taylor as the most affordable option among their triumvirate of free agent running backs.
