Gareon Conley is the lesser known of the Ohio State defensive backs, but he shined just as brightly today

With Marcus Lattimore and Malik Hooker getting all the attention, it was easy for people to overlook Gareon Conley. The Cardinals, still in need of a cornerback to permanently take the spot starting opposite Patrick Peterson, were likely watching closely as Conley had himself a good showing at the Combine.

Conley has been a starter for the past two years, and had six interceptions during that time. He’s effective as a press corner, but has the quickness and skill set to play off the ball as well. His ball skills are excellent, and his tape shows him to be an instinctive cover guy.

Conley’s first victory at the Combine came at the weigh-in, when he measured in at six foot tall with 33 inch arms. Today, in his workout, he won again. He posted a 4.44 40-time and had impressive jump numbers as well. With a couple of other top guys struggling, Conley might be in play for Arizona’s 13th pick overall.
