Arizona Cardinals: Karlos Dansby Returns
A former second-round pick by Arizona, Karlos Dansby returns to the desert.
Inside linebacker Karlos Dansby signed with the Arizona Cardinals on March, 9, 2017 (pending a physical). This stint with the Cardinals will be Dansby’s third with the team. At 35 years old, Dansby seems to still have gas left in the tank, and the Arizona Cardinals are prepared to kick the tires once again with a one-year deal.
As a Cincinnati Bengal in 2016, Karlos Dansby racked up 116 total tackles and a single sack. The seasoned veteran was originally drafted by the Cardinals in the second round, but after a six year stint, Dansby parted ways with the Cardinals organization to chase dollar signs in a Miami Dolphins uniform.
After Dansby’s trip to Miami fizzled out Steve Keim brought in Dansby on a one-year “prove it” deal. After this deal Dansby once again left for a large contract but this time to Cleveland. His time as a Cleveland Brown was short-lived before he joined a rival squad in the Bengals.

Karlos Dansby has always been a fan favorite, even through all of the heartache of watching him leave not once, but twice. Though many fans grew angry at the veteran middle linebacker, they have always welcomed Dansby back with arms wide open.
The best thing about Karlos Dansby once again signing a one-year contract with the Cardinals is his age. At 35 years old, Dansby brings leadership and experience to a Cardinals squad looking for a Super Bowl championship. Also, at 35 years old the Cardinals do not have to worry about Dansby receiving a blockbuster contract offer following this current deal.
With the departure of former defensive tackle Calais Campbell, the Arizona Cardinals have only two players from their only Super Bowl team on the current roster: Larry Fitzgerald and now Karlos Dansby.
Dansby was an integral part of the 2008-2009 Super Bowl team. Will he now have the chance to replicate that?
