DeShone Kizer has some detractors, but has a ton of potential as well

Were it not for an injury to Notre Dame’s starting quarterback in 2015, DeShone Kizer might not be in position to be one of the first quarterbacks taken in the draft. The injury did occur, though, and Kizer took advantage, and got to where he is now.

Kizer burst onto the scene with his 2015 campaign. Expectations were huge going into last season. His completion percentage dipped, but he still threw for over 2,900 yards and 26 touchdowns. Add in the 472 yards rushing, and 8 touchdowns, and he had a big year.

His live arm is going to immediately draw in NFL teams. Kizer can throw it all over the field, and has the confidence to do so. He’s raw in certain areas, and could struggle to read complex NFL defenses. He also still has a tendency to make bad decisions with the ball from time to time.

Likelihood of Drafting: 5/10

Kizer certainly has the size and arm strength that the Cardinals covet in their quarterbacks. His upside is really high, and with Palmer back, they could draft him at 13, and let him learn behind the veteran before moving into the starting role.
