Davis Webb is a name to remember, and one that seems to be rising in NFL circles

Davis Webb has had an interesting college career. He took over as the starter at Texas Tech as a Freshman, but eventually lost his job to Patrick Mahomes. After transferring to California, he won the starting job and wound up as an NFL Draft prospect.

In 2016, Webb threw for nearly 4,300 yards and 37 touchdowns. He’s not a running threat, but he did add six rushing scores to his stat sheet. Like Mahomes, his numbers were aided by the system that he comes from.

At 6’5″ and 229 pounds, Webb has the classic pocket quarterback look. He has a big arm, and has the tools to be an accurate, effective passer in the NFL. He does, however, struggle with a lot of throws. Too often his passes float when he goes down the field. He also trusts him arm too much at times.

Likelihood of Drafting: 7/10

Webb has the look and arm strength that the Cardinals like, and he seems to be great fit. The ability to sit behind Palmer would be of benefit to him, but he has some issues that need ironed out. Webb appears to be rising up some boards, but Arizona wouldn’t need to use their first round pick on him, which is a big plus. If the Cardinals don’t think the gap between the first four guys and Webb is large, waiting and getting the Cal star on day two is the more likely move.
