Following a disappointing 2016 season, the Arizona Cardinals are looking to make a playoff push

Following a disappointing 2016 season in which they finished 7-8-1, the Arizona Cardinals are looking to return to the playoffs. This season was plagued by a dismal special teams as well as numerous misfortunes in the wide receiver room such as an arrest (Floyd) and injuries (John Brown, Jaron Brown). The Cardinals’ recent signings as well as the returns of Carson Palmer and Larry Fitzgerald show that the Super Bowl window has not yet closed.

"“I’ve seen what guys needed. They needed the words of encouragement. They needed somebody to show them how to do it. There are just different ways of leading guys and leading men, so you’ve just got to be sensitive to the situation, and once you see it, you’ve got to be able to apply what you know and apply what you’ve been able to do.” – Karlos Dansby"

The front office have made it known that they are putting an emphasis on experience and leadership, and the signings of Antoine Bethea and Karlos Dansby are proof. Given the age of many key players (Palmer, Fitz, Rucker, Shipley, and now Dansby, Bethea, and Dawson are all 30+ years old), there is a sense of urgency in the Cardinals’ locker room.
