Arizona Cardinals add another WR to the roster
By Scott Allen
The Arizona Cardinals not only moved Andre Ellington to receiver on Wednesday, they also signed a free agent receiver
The big news on Wednesday was that the Arizona Cardinals moved Andre Ellington from running back to receiver. We’ve already touched on that today. What some may have missed was there was another receiver transaction that took place.
The Cardinals added Harvey Binford. He was a participant at the Cardinals NFL pro player combine in Tempe last weekend.
Binford was signed by the Green Bay Packers last summer as training camp started. He was the first player from Lindenwood University-Belleville to sign a contract in the NFL. The NAIA school is located in Belleville, Illinois.
Binford does have some professional experience. He has played in the Arena Football League with the Philadelphia Soul. Binford stands at 6’0, 185.

Binford likely won’t make the Cardinals roster when they finalize the 53-man roster at the beginning of September, however you never know. Every year there seems to be some players that open eyes.
Binford could be the next Chris Hubert. Hubert had a great camp last year and did find himself on the practice squad for awhile.
He is considered very fast. Some considered him the fastest player in Packers camp last season. Just being fast though won’t win him a job.
After signing Aaron Dobson, adding Ellington to the mix, and hopefully getting a healthy John Brown and an eventually healthy Jaron Brown back next season, there may not be much room to add.
The signing signals to me the Cardinals likely pass on drafting a receiver at the end of April. However you never know what the Cardinals have up their sleeves.
Binford isn’t a household name but he had to have done something right to be added to the roster after a weekend tryout. It’s always nice to add more camp bodies.
