Draft talk is all over the place right now but the Arizona Cardinals also will get to see their 2017 schedule next week

So, yes the draft is about to take place.  See a mock here, see a mock there.  However for the Arizona Cardinals and their fans, one of the highlights of April is getting to see the 2017 regular season schedule.

The schedule is going to be released next Thursday afternoon.  The time hasn’t been announced because it wasn’t the NFL that let the news slip.

Apparently Detroit Lions team president Rod Wood was the one that let the news slip out. Typically the schedule release happens at 4:00 p.m. Arizona time.

With the news now being out, I would expect the NFL to follow with an official announcement shortly.  The 2017 preseason schedule was released earlier this week.

If you have forgotten who the Cardinals play this season, feast your eyes on this lineup.  It should be a fun season.

More from Raising Zona

Home: New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers, Los Angeles Rams, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tennessee Titans, and Jacksonville Jaguars.

That gives the Cardinals five teams will a 9-7 record or better from 2016 that will come to visit Glendale.  Not a bad slate of games at all.  Three of those teams (Giants, Cowboys, Seahawks) made the playoffs last season.

Away: Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins, Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers, Los Angeles Rams (London), Detroit Lions, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts.

The road slate of games has the Cardinals visiting four teams with winning records of 8-7-1 or better in 2016.  Three of those teams were playoff teams last year (Seahawks, Lions, Texans).

It will be interesting to see how many national television games the Cardinals will be given.  I imaging no more than three, maybe as few as one.  However with speculation Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald may hang it up after the season and the expectation the Cardinals will be back close to 2015 form, you never know.
