Arizona Cardinals: At 13, select Haason Reddick
By Scott Allen
The Arizona Cardinals made their first round selection at number 13 on Thursday night
The pick is in. With the 13th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals have selected linebacker Haason Reddick. Many people wanted the Cardinals to go quarterback however defense was on the list first.
With the top three quarterbacks gone, the choice was simple, go get one of the best defensive players available. They did just that with linebacker Reddick out of Temple.
Over the past couple of weeks, Reddick’s name came up more and more. Reddick was someone that the Cardinals reportedly loved. Now, they go out and prove that love.
Reddick, at 6’1, 237 has a decent size. In 2016, he was First-Team All-AAC with Temple. He recorded 65 tackles and 10.5 sacks last season.
The Cardinals are continuously looking to improve their pass rush. Their top two pass rushers in 2016, Markus Golden and Chandler Jones are linebackers. Reddick did his damage as a defensive end but will be a linebacker in the NFL.
Some people may not know Reddick very well but just looking at his numbers, how can one not be excited for what he will bring to the table. What do the fans think?
Needless to say, people seem to love Reddick. Quarterbacks will be there if they want a guy later but for now, the Cardinals made the smart move.
