The Arizona Cardinals went to the offensive line to start day 3 of the 2017 NFL Draft
The Arizona Cardinals went out and got themselves a solid pick for the offensive line on Saturday morning to start off day three of the 2017 NFL Draft. They selected guard Dorian Johnson out of Pittsburgh.
The Cardinals offensive line should be healthier in 2017 than it was last season. That’s not much of a stretch given how many injuries they had and makshifting they had to do last season.
There were reportedly some concerns about Johnson’s liver but apparently the Cardinals were alright with the reports. Johnson is definitely a first or second round talent.
Johnson helped clear the way for running back James Connor, who was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers on Friday night and was one of the top backs in the country. It all starts on the offensive line.
The pick brought on very special meaning for many Cardinals fans, including yours truly. The pick was made from the Grand Canyon.

Running back David Johnson announced the pick with the family of fallen Phoenix Police Officer and huge Cardinals fan David Glasser. Glasser was killed in the line of duty last May.
Glasser was a friend of mine on Twitter, we talked Cardinals football often, the most recent being less than 48 hours before he was killed. From all accounts from mutual friends who did attend tailgates and games with him, Glasser was about as big a Cardinals fan you will find out there.
The Cardinals are a class act all the way for making that happen. Glasser’s son Micah got to announce Johnson’s name as the fourth round pick and he did great. Now, let’s hope Johnson can come in and be great as well.
Honestly, let’s just hope Johnson can stay healthy and hope the liver doesn’t become a bigger issue. Either way, never been prouder to be a Cardinals fan than today.
