The Arizona Cardinals stayed on offense for their second pick of the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft

The Arizona Cardinals selected a running back with their second pick of the fifth round of the NFL Draft.  They selected T.J. Logan out of North Carolina with the 179th overall pick.

Earlier the Cardinals got a couple of offensive linemen, now they got a back they can develop behind David Johnson.  There were a lot of rumors in the offseason the Cardinals were interested in drafting a running back in this draft.

Logan rushed for 650-yards and seven touchdowns last season for the Tar Heels, both career-high’s.  He also caught 29 passes last season for 244-yards and three touchdowns.

Having that versatility had to be something the Cardinals were drawn to.  He’s got Andre Ellington size though at 5’10, 180.  We’ll see how that holds up in the NFL.

If he can hold up health-wise and can produce like Ellington did earlier in his career then the Cardinals have made a great value pick here.  If he can help in the return game despite the lack of experience, even better.
