The Arizona Cardinals now have 14 receivers on their roster after the NFL Draft and undrafted free agent signings

By far the most players at one position on the Arizona Cardinals is at receiver.  As of Friday, the Cardinals now have 14 receivers on their roster.

How many of them actually end up on the regular season roster will be a four-month process to determine.  We know of five receivers who should be here for sure.

The Cardinals could be playing their last season with Larry Fitzgerald, although nothing on his status for 2018 will be certain until after the 2017 season.  The number two receiver is John Brown.

Brown, who spent much of 2016 season battling a couple of different ailments, has been deemed healthy and ready to go.  Can he step up to grab that number two spot permanently?

Then there is J.J. Nelson, who has shown flashes at times of being a possible star in the NFL.  Also don’t forget Jaron Brown.  He left the 2016 season early last October with a torn ACL.

The fifth receiver at this point stands to be a battle between Jeremy Ross, Aaron Dobson, and Brittan Golden.  After that, it is anyone’s guess.

The remaining receivers on the current roster are Harvey Binford, Marquis Bundy, Marvin Hall, Chris Hubert, Chad Williams, Krishawn Hogan, and Carlton Agudosi.  While none of them are household names, they all bring a certain amount of intrigue.

Williams was drafted in the third-round of the NFL draft last week in Philadelphia.  Some felt the Cardinals reached for him but given his numbers that narrative doesn’t really fit.  The Cardinals know what they are doing.

It will be interesting to see if the Cardinals decide to keep six receivers or just five and then maybe add one or two to the practice squad.  Hubert was one of those guys who spent a couple of stints on the practice squad roster last year.  Maybe he makes a move up?

The position also may not be settled.  If a couple of these undrafted free agents show they can’t cut it, you can be rest assured coach Bruce Arians will move on quickly.
