Justin Bethel
Here is a guy that has nine lives. Early on in his career he was known for his special teams play. Then as players left, he started becoming more relied upon as a cornerback.
In 2015, it appeared he was headed to solidify his position as a starter opposite Patrick Peterson. A shaky postseason and then an awful 2016 offseason started his downhill spiral.
Bethel just completed OTA’s and mini-camp where Arians lauded his ability to be able to practice, something he couldn’t do last year. Bethel had some real good production with several interceptions in the offseason practices.
Look for Bethel to seriously compete for the start position opposite Peterson. He went from a sure cut from the team to now this.
If Bethel’s off season was as good as it was reported to be, there is absolutely no reason he can’t compete for not only a roster spot but a starters spot. He has a lot of work to do but he could be a surprise when the 53-man roster is released.
