Arizona Cardinals rookie T.J. Logan impressed on Thursday night against the Dallas Cowboys

Some have said this is why we can’t have good things.  Arizona Cardinals rookie running back and kick returner T.J. Logan had himself a night in his professional debut in the Pro Football hall of Fame Game.

Unfortunately for him, it may be the only night he plays in the 2017 NFL season, preseason or regular season. Logan dislocated his wrist and will need surgery.

Logan’s kickoff returns were what was most impressive to see.  He ran two kickoffs back for a total of 71-yards.  He found holes and squirted through them quickly.

He also ran the ball four times for 24-yards.  He would have likely been third or fourth on the depth chart at that position, so the Cardinals are still alright there.  His returns is where the Cardinals miss him the most.

Head coach Bruce Arians did address his situation on Saturday.  He said he very well could be ready to go come week eight of the regular season.

So the Cardinals could still put him on injured reserve and designate him to be one of the two players they could have return.  This year the NFL changed the rule where now two players instead of one will be allowed to have the designation to return.

A lot will depend on what happens with other players as the Cardinals continue through training camp and the preseason, then into the regular season.  Right now however, he looks like a good bet to be one of the two players that would receive that designation.

If he goes on injured reserve, he could come off after six weeks and then would have to practice for at least a couple of weeks before he would be allowed to return to game action.  If he doesn’t return, it would be a sad story for a rookie who has shown so much promise in very little time.
