Justin Bethel could help the Cardinals a lot if he can lock down the number two cornerback spot

If there is a question mark on the Cardinals roster, it’s concerning the number two cornerback position. Last season, Marcus Cooper played adequately, but left via free agency. The team didn’t address his departure in the offseason.

Many fans thought cornerback would be a focus. Patrick Peterson is an All Pro player, and locks down one side of the field. Justin Bethel is the front-runner to start on the opposite side.

Bethel hasn’t had a lot of success as a cornerback, but will get the first crack at the starting spot. Fans and coaches will closely monitor his progress during the preseason. If he is unable to hold down the fort, it could spell trouble for the Cardinals defense as a whole, and certainly for their playoff hopes.
